Bruce Guile, president and co-founder
Three decades of experience in strategy and new enterprise development for research universities and industry-university applied research partnerships. Founding partner and fifteen years as the Managing Director of The Washington Advisory Group (WAG). Five years leading WAG’s advisory team for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology including four years as Managing Director, KAUST Global Research Partnerships. Twelve years as Fellow and Director of Programs for the US National Academy of Engineering. Earned PhD, Graduate School of Public Policy, University of California Berkeley; MPP University of Michigan; and BA in English Literature and Computer Science, Heidelberg College.
Damian Saccocio, principal and co-founder
Over twenty-five years of experience in development and commercialization of software, digital media, interactive services, and knowledge management systems including collaboration and web publishing systems. Previous employment includes U.S. National Research Council, America Online, Open Text, Huron Consulting, and several technology startups. Earned PhD, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lally School of Management; an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and a BS in computer engineering from the Ohio State University.
Jack Breese, principal and co-founder
Thirty years of experience in R&D and commercialization for IT growth companies including serving as Director and Senior Researcher at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington (1993 to 2005). Responsibilities included facilitation of technology transfer efforts, coordination with Microsoft’s overseas research labs, aspects of university relations, and intellectual property management. Earned PhD from the Department of Engineering-Economic Systems (now Management Science and Engineering) at Stanford University; MPP from the University of Michigan; and a BA in Mathematics from Clark University.
Micki Leder, principal and co-founder
Over twenty-five years of legal experience with private law firms, government and industry, and significant strategy and management experience related to research universities and institutions. Served as general counsel or deputy general counsel of a number of companies, Associate Dean at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and legal counsel with both government (the National Science Foundation) and private firms. Earned JD from the University of Pennsylvania, and BA in Political Economy from The Johns Hopkins University.
